Above is a page from my Thriller Storyboard which would of been used to aid myself and my peers in the group I was working in to create the short thriller film that we were producing. In my group, we had spilt up what boxes that each person would be doing. I was given 'Section 3' of the storyboard to do which totalled to up to eight boxes. I was only able to finish drawing the first page of the storyboard and  finish four boxes. As I couldn't complete the storyboard, I wasn't able to complete sketching the other four boxes on the second sheet of the storyboard, writing down details about the: different shot types, camera angles, etc. fine-line the sketch and colour it in so the storyboard looks completed. If I was to go back and be able to complete the unit, I would write down and present: a variety of different shot-types and camera angles so that the film doesn't look too repetitive and would bore the viewer, different angles so that the film looks unique and woul...

Thriller Chiller Fim Festival, from Michigan, USA are looking for the first two minutes (including the opening sequence) of an original, new thriller movie as a taster to screen at their festival next year. The thriller movie should be shot in the UK and aimed towards a target audience of 16-24 year olds. It should include all the conventions of a film opening and many of the techniques used in the thriller genre. All content must be original and produced by myself. However, music or audio effects from a copyright-free source may be used, but must be referenced.  As my thriller is targeted towards a target audience of 16-24, In my thriller, I will try to have fast-paced thrilling action scenes to appeal to my audience. The reason why I would like to have this in my film as according to my research, a younger audience would like more action and intense scenes that would draw them to the edge of seat whilst watching it. Abandoned Area to make the viewer feel isolated and alone. Have a view seconds of suspense, and have loud sound effects to startle the viewer who is watching when they don't expect it. Dark and gloomy colour pallet to set the mood of the area.  Preferably set at night so the viewer has a fear of what lurks in the dark. Music picks up tensisity as something approaches to make the viewer feel frightful of what's going to come up. Scares when the user isn't expecting it to thrill the viewer and scare them.  UK- British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) provide specific ratings based on aspects of the film, whether they are appropriate or not. US- MPAA- film regulator in the US. It has a slightly different rating system. 

  Trainspotting The opening sequence starts off skipping straight into action and into the point. It starts off with our two main character running away from two officers, from this the audience can gather that the characters have done something bad. The main character has a monologue listing all of the things he could of had, such as a "a career, job, family, etc.", suggesting that the main character when the   opening starts has gone down a bad path. Set in a rural location, characters have scruffier attire suggesting that they are from a lower class. The narrative presents a character on a misguided path, trying desperately to get off of this path but fails falling back onto it.  Narrative Theory Character Driven Propp-Character Rolls Propp's Approach to Narrative Vladmir Propp studied hundreds of Russain folk and fairytales before deciding that all narratives have a common structure. He observed that narratives are shaped and directed by certain types of characters and specific kinds of actions. He believed that there are 31 possible stages or functions in any narrative. These may not all appear in a single story, but nevertheless always appear in the same sequence. A function is an event in the story.  Mise En Scene Shows image of little girls running down before the clip of the empty swings and this builds a sense of mystery. Signifies that they may of disappeared.  Objects belong to people but there aren't any people creating a sense of mystery. Camera The opening scene includes a lot of fast moving camera shots making the viewer feel disorientated.  This wide-shot view of the house makes it appear significant, signifying this is the place where the mysteries  Sound Hass eerie with a mix of breath whisper like- low pitched singing; makes it sounds ghost- like and disturbing. You can occasionally people screaming over it, this creates a more frightening atmosphere because it sounds as though people are helpless.   Screen Still One: (1:11) of the Happy Death Day trailer. In this still-shot, the main protagonist is stuck in a tense moment where she is on her own and isn't aware of the serial-killer behind her whilst us as viewers do know. This slow shot attempts to make the audience tense and fearful and they worry for the main protagonist as she isn't aware of the killer ready to strike behind her. This is done so that the viewer can feel pleasure worrying about what will happen next to the protagonist and gets the audience's adrenaline pumping as they fear for the character. Dark comedies intend to make light of events that would otherwise be considered too painful to discuss. American Psycho is a humorous and blood-curdling psychological thriller.
