 My Favorite Thriller Movie: Happy Death Day Sub-Genres: Horror, Slasher and (hints of) Comedy According to IMDB, 'The Well' was the most popular Thriller Movie last year. Mise-En-Scnee Lighting: Usually Artificial lighting, city lights. American Psycho is a Black Comedy Slasher movie.  A Black Comedy movie incorporates Dark humor where commonly objectionable topics and events are used in s satirical manner as a source of humor in a narrative work. Dark comedies intend to make light of events that would otherwise be considered too painful to discuss. American Psycho is a humorous and blood-curdling psychological thriller.
