 My Favorite Thriller Movie: Happy Death Day Sub-Genres: Horror, Slasher and (hints of) Comedy According to IMDB, 'The Well' was the most popular Thriller Movie last year. Mise-En-Scnee Lighting: Usually Artificial lighting, city lights. Costumes: Slasher/Masked Serial killer costume, Era: Modern Day, Skips to scenes from the past (however still in the modern day) Performance: Delivered seriously most of the time.  Props: Knife, Cupcake and a  Hammer, Sound Sound Effects: Knife slashing across an object, Banging sound effects when cutting to the next scene, car hooting noise,explosion sound effect and the sound of a gun being shot. American Psycho is a Black Comedy Slasher movie.  A Black Comedy movie incorporates Dark humor where commonly objectionable topics and events are used in s satirical manner as a source of humor in a narrative work. Dark comedies intend to make light of events that would otherwise be considered too painful to discuss. American Psycho is a humorous and blood-curdling psychological thriller. It is a social commentary on the sexual insecurity of men, their shallowness, their obsession with materialism to conceal their apathy.  American Pyscho is listed under these multiple Genres: Horror Thriller Comedy Satire Dark Comedy Slasher Psychological Thriller Comedy Horror Mystery Drama Crime Fiction American Psycho is an indictment of a society that values economic prosperity over any sort of discernible morality. It raises a lot of questions to the viewer surrounding the nexus of masculinity, conformity and identity.

 Sub Genres are Genres within a genre. Sub-Genres show all the broad features of the genre, but have a few more specific conventions which link them into a tighter subgenre. In horror, you could have a slasher or monster movie. Sub-genres are less well defined and slip into each other, as well other main genres. Thriller Sub-Genres: Action Thriller A subgenre of both action and thriller in which the protagonist confronts dangerous adversaries, obstacles, or situations which he/she must conquer, normally in action setting. Action thrillers would usually feature a race against the clock, frequent violence and a clear antagonist.  Comedy Thriller A genre that combines that combines elements of comedy and thrillers, a combination of both humor and suspense or action. Conspiracy Thriller In which the hero/heroine confronts a large, powerful group of enemies whose true extent only she/he recognizes.  Crime Thriller This particular genre is a combination of both crime films and thrillers that

Hitchcock Questions Alfred Hitchcock Made 40+ films which can be regarded as thrillers. Even today his films are considered the very best in the genre. Most of his films were made in Hollywood, but he is actually from Leytonstone.
